Pastor Huxhold has also been an assistant and interim bishop, was a member of a task force in the creation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and was a part of the dialogue team in the national Methodist-Lutheran dialogue. He has served as president and is the chaplain of the Church Federation of Greater Indianapolis. He holds degrees from Concordia Theological Seminary (St. Louis), Luther Theological Seminary (St. Paul, Minnesota), and Christian Theological Seminary (Indianapolis).
