A resident of Newport, Rhode Island, where he was born in the Naval Hospital, Keith is a graduate of Boston University, where he majored in political science and history. He has worked in higher education and the nonprofit sector for most of 30 years, having served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement for the large social service agency Child and Family in Newport and Middletown, RI.
