In this design the initial system cost was 31,250 $ which considered a small fraction from the cost of erecting the HV transmission lines which according to Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Mining might cost 30,000 $ for each 1 Km, while some rural communities in remote areas can be a hundreds kilometers away from the national grid. The huge cost of building a distribution substation should be also considered.
