Paradoxically, \"un-editing\" them allows an exploration of the relationship between medium and messages. Werner's commentary forsakes the claims to comprehensiveness generally associated with scholarly narrative in favor of a series of speculative and fragmentary \"close-ups\"--a portrait in pieces.
