The aim of our study was to describe the management of this lesion.Our retrospective study included 25 cases hospitalised in the neurosurgery department of the Tunis Military Hospital over a period of 16 years. We collected and analysed the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary data.The mean age of the patients was 26.84 years. Public road accidents were the most frequent aetiology (48%), and haematoma thickness was greater than 10 mm in 32% of cases. Treatment was conservative in 56% of cases and surgical in 32%. The outcome was favourable in 92% of cases.Extradural haematomas of the posterior cerebral fossa are a life-threatening diagnostic and therapeutic emergency.
