To get our keys we met with the Project Manager and Superintendent. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eWe walked through the new house, we checked out the workmanship and made sure we were getting what we paid for. A National Builder. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eWe looked around at some other new construction going on, the workers were mostly people of color, mostly Latinos. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eBut the Project Manager and the Superintendent were white. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eThat seems to be the norm these days. And not just recently, it seems to me like it's been that way forever! \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eMy story is about just that - the inequality among races; that's one of the reasons I wrote this book, I want to see that changed and want my book to help with that change. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe American Dream\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eFor many people living in the United States, the path to wealth comes from home ownership.
