Helping each other made the wait easier. Inspiration was in not giving up. Through it all there was hope. Over time the community was emptied. People moved away or died. All that's left are vacant lots, overgrown streets, and the memories left behind. As I grew older, what I learned kept things focused. In every story, there was a reason to hold on.
