In 1998, he joined the Electrotechnical Laboratory at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Japan. During 2007-2008, he was a team leader of Research Center for Photovoltaics, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. Professor Fujiwara has authored and edited six books and has published more than 130 scientific articles.
