This happened when He died on the cross at Calvary. He had to loose His life to give it to humanity as He explained with the sowing of seed. Jesus explained that the life is in the seed. Nothing happens when the seed is not planted. Once planted, the seed 'dies' to release the life inside the shell. He died to release His life for us as eternal gift. Jesus accomplished all that was required to pay for the sins of Adam.
