It took time but eventually his work was accepted. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFreeman has been described as \"tall, gangling, ugly, solemn, punctilious\". \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe won the Hawthornden Prize in 1920 with 'Poems' 1909-1920.
