On behalf of Transglobal, Thirion successfully solicited hundreds of millions of dollars from the Saudi royal family to assist Afghan freedom fighters in their fight against Soviet oppression. The money never reached them. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eThe money was diverted and skimmed and was later discovered in a secret CIA Swiss bank account co-mingled with illegal profits from Iran-Contra.
