By Thanksgiving week of 2016, the initial publication date of this book, Amelia was on the 9th month of the doctor's prediction, three months short of the projected one-year survival period. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlthough her health was noticeably in rapid decline, the family still hoped to enjoy Christmas of 2016 and beyond.
