They struggle with change in the barrio and beyond as they move from invisibility to claim a place, to find a voice, and to name themselves. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e From beneath two mulberry trees, the village takes root and spreads its dirt streets that shift like rivers, lined by shacks. The stories follow the progress over the course of the twentieth century, tracing its characters' dreams, triumphs, failures, and loves.
