After four years at Oxford he went to the London Hospital Medical College and then to Great Ormond Street, where he studied Paediatrics. He decided on a career in General Practice and became a trainer, then lecturer and finally Professor of Primary Care in Hull. Always having a strong Christian faith, Peter has been an active member of his local Church.
