The species studied in this work were Vernonia auriculifera, Vernonia urticifolia, Vepris glomerata and Vepris uguenensis. Phytochemical studies revealed a range of compounds being present in the four species. From Vernonia, triterpenoids, a sesquiterpene amine, a carotenoid and a polyene were isolated.
