She loved sweet potatoes and would always save them as the last thing she ate on her plate!\u003cbr\u003eEach year, Mother made the menus out for family dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas. You guessed it. We had sweet potatoes as a part of both meals. Sometimes when she rode the bus to visit us in Tulsa, she would bring some sweet potatoes in her suitcase! But most of the time, I usually had them ready to be peeled when she arrived.\u003cbr\u003eIn her later years of life, as she aged and her physical ailments became greater, Mother came to live with me and my husband and yes, she would have eaten \u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003esweet potatoes\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e every day had we cooked them for her. Most times we did.\u003cbr\u003eI hope and pray this small token will be a history lesson for those who did not know my mother, and a lovely walk down memory lane for those friends and close family members who knew her and kept company with her.
