The aim of this study was to collect data on the use of the WHOQOL as a quality of life assessment tool for individuals with schizophrenia by searching the PubMed and ScieLO databases. Eleven (11) articles were found with studies on schizophrenia and QOL measured using the WHOQOL scale. The WHOQOL has been used in eight (8) countries to assess the quality of life of schizophrenics. Their quality of life is considered an important component of effective treatment.
