Medical devices appear frequently in journals and are often related to practical\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ematters. With this in mind, this study examines four technological concerns in\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003emedicine more closely, namely devices used to examine the nose, throat and eye;\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eorthopaedic practice; Listerist antisepsis; and the introduction of asepsis. These\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ecases highlight how technologies were adapted locally and in practice.
