2 Baruch: The Syriac Apocalypse - An Ancient Apocryphal Text of Prophecy, Heavenly Visions & End-Time Revelations (Deluxe Hardcover Edition For Easy R (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781807528225)

2 Baruch presents a compelling modern translation of one of the most significant and spiritually rich texts of the ancient apocryphal tradition. Attributed to Baruch, the scribe of the prophet Jeremiah, this apocalypse was composed following the traumatic destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. It serves not only as a historical window into the grief and theological struggles of the Jewish people during a time of unprecedented crisis, but also as a universal exploration of suffering, divine justice, and the hope for a restored world.

Far more than a simple record of mourning, this text transcends earthly destruction by lifting the reader's gaze to the heavens. Through a series of powerful dialogues with God and breathtaking angelic visitations, Baruch receives the secrets of the cosmos, the timeline of the end of days, and the assurance that earthly kingdoms will fall to make way for eternal divine rule.

Blending prophetic urgency with deep philosophical contemplation, 2 Baruch challenges readers to reconsider their understanding of earthly suffering and divine providence. It is a vital text for anyone seeking to understand the roots of apocalyptic literature and the historical development of religious thought regarding the end times.
