I was raised in a blue-collar, hard working, lower-middle class neighborhood of West Philadelphia. It was the same neighborhood that the Fresh Prince of Bel Air (Will Smith) left for safety reasons. In fact, Will Smith went to the same grade school that I attended. I can view the world from many angles because of my austere upbringing and the many life successes with which I have been blessed. I had very humble beginnings but America gave me the opportunity to become an engineer, a management consultant, a corporate vice-president, a small business owner - and now, an author. However, it was not until I reached my current age of fifty-six years that I came to realize what I really wanted to be in life - a Grand Pop! My daughter and son-in-law gave me that honor six months ago. Had I known how great it is to be Grand Pop - I would have skipped right over having children and gone right to Grand Pop. When I am with that little girl, there is nothing else in the world that matters. When I am not with her, I love politics and writing.
