I was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in a small town on the Northwest border of Indiana. My interest in health grew from the examples of my parents, and many aunts and uncles who died too young. I married my best friend in 1985 and had four wonderful sons in three years. As if raising my sons wasn't a full time job, I also ran several businesses, homeschooled my sons for a bit and eventually took a job working in the school district my sons attended. When all my sons were grown, I entertained the notion of going to college. I began my college career in 2008 and graduated with honors in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health & Wellness. I enjoy camping, hiking, cooking, foraging, singing in choir, reading, crocheting, writing, and most of all, spending time with my husband and family.
