About the Author Jana L. Fortner, N.D. For more than twenty years, Jana Fortner has had a passion for helping people and an inability to tolerate human suffering. After experiencing health problems herself that conventional medicine failed to address, she became increasingly aware of the shortcomings in modern preventive care. Especially struck by the number of people who never recovered from cancer, she believed God must have provided a way out that was not widely known or not yet discovered. Not wanting to see herself or her family among the many victims, she began searching for a natural way to prevent and reverse disease at age 16 by taking classes in advanced anatomy and physiology. She went on to earn a degree in middle school math and social studies education from the University of Kentucky. Having succeeded experimentally in correcting many of her own problems by reading and implementing dietary improvements, she was determined to find a natural solution when her first child was diagnosed with asthma at age three and was reacting badly to medications. She used her knowledge of children and natural health to write a syndicated newspaper column, The Natural Mom, which was published for four years. Desiring to further her education in natural health, she began taking classes at the Alternative Medicine College of Canada. She completed her N.D. through Trinity College of Natural Health and continues to attend accredited professional seminars regularly. Several years ago, she opened the Nutritional Health Education Center in Danville, Kentucky, a natural health consulting and coaching practice where she continues helping clients reach their full health potential, naturally.
