ABOUT THE AUTHOR The author purchased her first Cocker Spaniel in 1972 upon moving to Oklahoma from California with her first husband, J. Jackman. She soon knew that she wanted to be a breeder of show Cockers. The health of the dog was a primary concern, as was temperament. Her goal became to put titles on both ends of her dogs' names, under the prefix, Artistry. Titles included obedience, tracking, and Schutzhund work. Also, Canine Good Citizen. She loved all dogs and eventually owned many breeds, showing her Turvuren and Bouviers Des Flandres. She also owned Aussies, Pekenese, Shitzus, Shelties, Dobermans, and Pyranees. She was the president of the Central Oklahoma Cocker Club for many years. It is one of the oldest clubs in the nation. She later returned to school to complete her Bachelors in Fine Art and Masters in Human Relations, becoming an alcohol, addiction, and mental health counselor until retiring. She had always been an artist, however, retirement allowed her to try on a new hat, writer and author. She still resides in Oklahoma, in a log cabin, with her dogs, husband of over thirty years, Ed Blagrave, a couple of miniature donkeys, and her beloved Paso Fino mare and Peruvian gelding which she bred and raised.
