A Break Through The Icy Walls: Graceful Single Parenting (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798671411201)

Single parenting seems to wear an ugly face, maybe globally, but most certainly in Africa. From research, more painful than the stings of having to parent a child without the presence or help of one of the parents, is the crass ignorance and insensitivity with which most critiques go after single parents ( particularly single mothers). Many observed self-righteous critiques obviously wallow more in ignorance than knowledge and truth of what really is. Whenever issues or arguments that border on parenting alone arise, the loudest voices streak of nothing short of bias as a result of religious, cultural, and self-created moral beliefs, and emotions ... nothing close to understanding, truth, or a sense of empathy. Most people do not know where to draw the lines between expectations and reality.Knowledge is not just a key; for so many may have several keys in their hands without knowing how to use them... Applied knowledge is the master key that opens the strong doors that lead to liberation. This book of six chapters is a highly thought out and researched work aimed at changing the narrative and helping people have a liberated mind; to be able to separate myths from facts, and reality from personal bias which most often than not are unrealistic and unhelpful in creating the kind of sane society everyone yearns for. As against what some might assume, this book is not aimed at promoting promiscuity which leads to people bringing in children they can't cater for, hence raising a chaotic society. No, that's not the purpose. It is rather to demystify hidden notions about single parenting and single parents and to help people around the world (more especially over religious Africans) go beyond their self-created and often insensitive moral prejudice to embrace love, empathy, and acceptance - basic keys for peaceful co-existence in every society. This book will be of benefit to every concerned player in the society - Single parents, Partnered parents, children of single parents, parents of single parents, children of partnered parent, children, youths, elders, the government, religious organizations, and everyone that has ever had anything to do with single parents or will. It is filled with so many eye-opening details (with real life stories and relatable illustrations) that many would never have given thought to in their relationship with others. It's not like any other book on single parenting and single parents you've come across. This would certainly 'wow' you.
