A Death Downtown: A Fati Rizvi Private Investigator Mystery (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781777901035)

A marriage of convenience, an enigmatic boss, an old lover...unraveling her knotty relationships is the key to finding this missing woman.

She told her husband she was staying with a friend. Her job demanded overnights out of town. Their marriage was solid. They were trying for a baby. When Misha Sinha, a twenty-five-year-old legal assistant goes missing, her husband hires Private Investigator Fati Rizvi to find her. When Fati starts asking questions, she digs out secrets Misha was harboring that her husband had no idea about...or did he?

When CCTV footage is unearthed showing Misha with a man at a hotel, and wrapped around another at the office, her husband no longer wants to find her. She has betrayed him. She's a fallen woman. But Fati is insistent upon finding answers. Has something sinister befallen Misha? Or did she run away to escape an unhappy marriage? Clues are confounding, pointing in different directions.

And then, the discovery of the dead body upends the case. Suddenly, everyone is singing a different tune. Misha's lovers are all pointing fingers at one another. Which one is lying? Fati knows that the answers lie in the buds of Misha's past, and in tracing her steps on her final days...

PRAISE FOR HS BURNEY:

"What a whirlwind. The Lake Temptation Murders has everything you ever wanted in a mystery/murder. Love the characters, and the complexity of the storylines are off the chart. If you are one that likes to guess at the culprits, good luck with this one. There are enough twists and turns to keep a roller coaster enthusiast grabbing on to the seat." - Nikcha for The Lake Templeton Murders
