Patrica K. Batta (Pat) grew up in Northern Michigan. She attended Northwestern Michigan Community College, received her BA from the University of Puerto Rico, and a Master's in Teaching from Oberlin College in Ohio. She married and moved to Philadelphia, and later to Seattle, Washington, where the Marge Christensen Mystery Series was born. She moved back to West Chester, Pennsylvania, and then returned to Michigan before settling in Prescott, Arizona, where she has begun the Katie in Cactus Mystery series.
