A Discourse Concerning the Being and Attributes of God, the Obligations of Natural Religion and the Truth and Certainty of the Christian Revelation is a philosophical work authored by Samuel Clarke. The book is divided into three parts, each of which discusses a different topic related to religion and theology. The first part of the book is concerned with the nature and attributes of God. Clarke argues that God is a necessary being who exists outside of time and space. He also discusses God's attributes, such as his omniscience and omnipotence, and argues that these attributes are essential to his nature. The second part of the book focuses on natural religion and the obligations that humans have to worship and obey God. Clarke argues that humans have an innate sense of morality and that this sense is evidence of God's existence. He also discusses the importance of prayer and the role of religion in promoting virtue and happiness. The final part of the book is concerned with the truth and certainty of the Christian revelation. Clarke argues that the Bible is a reliable source of information about God and that the Christian faith is the true religion. He also discusses the importance of faith and the role of miracles in confirming the truth of Christianity.Overall, A Discourse Concerning the Being and Attributes of God, the Obligations of Natural Religion and the Truth and Certainty of the Christian Revelation is a comprehensive and influential work of religious philosophy that continues to be studied and debated today.1732.
