A Discourse Of The Liberty Of Prophesying: Showing The Unreasonableness Of Prescribing To Other Men's Faith (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781430475897)

""A Discourse of the Liberty of Prophesying"" is a book written by Jeremy Taylor, a prominent Anglican theologian, in the 17th century. The book argues for religious tolerance and freedom of conscience, challenging the idea of prescribing one's faith onto others. Taylor argues that faith is a personal matter and that individuals should have the freedom to believe and practice as they see fit. He also critiques the idea of using force or coercion to impose religious beliefs, stating that it is not effective in promoting true faith. The book is a significant work in the history of religious tolerance and remains relevant today in discussions of individual rights and freedoms. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
