Tamara, a young gypsy girl, sets off on a new adventure to find her parents after receiving an enchanted map from a benevolent witch. The map, which marks blue dots for allies and red dots for danger, leads Tamara to a riverside route. Following the river for a steady water supply, she encounters a mischievous Kelpie in human form. Recognizing the Kelpie as an ally, thanks to the blue dot on her map, she befriends the playful and joke-loving creature. Together, they travel along the river, when they reach the southern end of the river, Tamara and the Kelpie part ways. Despite the Kelpie's humorous attempts to lighten the farewell, they share a heartfelt goodbye, having formed a close bond.

Continuing her journey alone, Tamara follows her map to another blue dot, leading her to a distracted Leprechaun named Jack, the Leprechaun, decides to help her and grants her three wishes.
