The Author is Dennis Carl Mazza, whose vocation since 1978 has been creating community with and among persons and families experiencing homelessness. He and his late wife Marsha founded Meeting Ground in Cecil County MD, a community-based partnership of persons both homeless and housed, which provided housing and services but above all friendship and a spirit of neighborhood. For the last five years, he has been working with the Deep Roots Community, a mentoring program for children and youth who have experienced homelessness. Through lifelong experience, he is well acquainted with this catastrophic violence to the human spirit and has developed a unique approach to ending it, described in his book A Least Expected Heaven: Homelessness and the Spirituality of Meeting, which is available on Amazon.com.
