She reached her goal with the publication of Testament of Youth in 1933.

xThe Author: Britta Zangen was born in 1947 in Düsseldorf, Germany. She was first trained and worked as a fashion designer, later as a teacher of English and French, and then worked as chief librarian of an English library and head of a language learning centre. After that she received a Ph.D. in English literature at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf where she now lectures English literature.
