A New Beginning: Dutchess Arrives (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798345439159)

Welcome to Mesquite Acres, a sprawling ranch in Southeast New Mexico where the bonds between animals and people run deep, and each day is filled with both challenges and heartwarming adventures. At the heart of these stories is June, a wise and brave donkey with an unwavering sense of duty to protect the animals around her. Alongside her is a cast of unforgettable characters: Pancho, a curious young gelding learning his place; Duchess, a spirited young horse with big dreams; and a lively rooster named Cheesecake, who's convinced he should be in charge.

Inspired by real events, these tales capture life on a working ranch, from facing fierce storms and desert adventures to the daily camaraderie of life in the pasture. Written by Derek Jones, who brings his own experiences of cowboy life and respect for the land, this book is a tribute to the animals and traditions that make Mesquite Acres a place like no other.

Whether you're a rancher, an animal lover, or just someone seeking an uplifting read, *Mesquite Acres: Tales of Friendship and Bravery* offers a glimpse into the values of loyalty, courage, and the incredible bond between animals and the people who care for them.

Perfect for readers of all ages, this collection of stories will inspire and entertain anyone who's ever dreamed of life on the open range.
