A Pilgrim's Guide to the Camino Inglés: The English Way Also Known as the Celtic Camino: Ferrol & a Coruña -- Santiago (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781912216406)

The definitive practical and spiritual walking guide to this historic pilgrimage, featuring daily stage maps and expert recommendations, fully updated for this ninth edition.

Welcome to the Camino Inglés, or English Way, a 117 km journey from the rugged Galician coast to historic city of Santiago de Compostela. Though steeped in history, through the stories of pilgrims that have taken to these paths since medieval times, the Camino Inglés is experiencing a modern revival and pilgrims from all over the world are flocking to this corner of northwestern Spain to experience all it has to offer.

For many people, a pilgrimage is a journey of both outer and inner discovery, what makes John Brierley's guide unique is that it supports pilgrims on both paths. Ensuring that you will find a place to eat and sleep at the end of a hard day's walk, but also that you may feel supported to embark on an inner journey. Featuring inspirational quotes, reflections and space for your own journaling, this really is a practical and mystical manual for the modern-day pilgrim.

The fully updated ninth edition guide to the Camino Inglés includes detailed descriptions of the routes from both historic starting points, Ferrol and A Coruña. While once described as the road less travelled, recent years have seen a surge in the popularity of this ancient path, that leads the hiker from dramatic coastal rías, through lush green countryside and on to Santiago de Compostela. The rise in pilgrim numbers has encouraged significant investment in this route, which is now well waymarked and supported by an ample, and ever growing, network of pilgrim facilities, making the Camino Inglés accessible to everyone from seasoned veterans to those on their first pilgrimage.
