Joan Graff Clucas was born in Denver, Colorado, but moved with her family to California and grew up in Los Angeles. After Woodcrest Elementary, Bret Harte Jr. High, and Washington High in Los Angeles, she completed her education at Biola University in La Mirada. During her years at Biola, she met and married her husband, Don. They have three children and three grandchildren. Joan taught in La Mirada and Alta Loma, CA for a total of just under forty years in all grades, kindergarten through eighth. She has three other books in print, as well as articles in several other publications. She enjoys reading, writing her blog friendjoanie, traveling with Don, and keeping in touch with family and friends.
