I have only recently started writing full time, but it has been a lifetime ambition. I have always been a voracious reader and have read hundreds of books on myriad subjects. I became aware of the publishing world and professional writers when I met James Jones while I was in grade school. For many years, after I saw the glamorous life Jones led, I wanted to "be" a writer. That is, I was enthralled with the desire to live the lifestyle. Actually doing the writing was another thing altogether. I took a brief stab at writing when I got out of the Navy but was embarrassed to find I had nothing to say. I decided to live my life, have some life experiences and come back to it somewhat later. That "somewhat later" became fifty years. In that fifty years, I have been fortunate and blessed to have lived and worked over half of the planet. I have had various jobs and pretty well done everything I dreamed of doing when I was a boy. I had a motorcycle racing team, competing in the AMA Superbike and Supersport venue. I ran a charter fishing operation in Kona, Hawaii. I hunted big game in Alaska and competed in skeet shooting. I gained my private pilot's license and flew my planes all over the country from Hawaii to Alaska. I have met hundreds of people and made some close friends. I have lost some as well, experiencing the diminishment of self, with their passing. I have a body of work completed that I will be publishing over the next couple of years. There is a compilation of anecdotal life stories, "Living on the Edge," a historical fiction five-book series, "The Sinclair Saga," that starts in the fifth century and runs to present day tracking a single family through the different generations.
