Jonny Lambert's delightful animal friends paired with Gretchen Huesman's rhythmic rhyme bring silly and tender scenes to life as children ages 3 to 7 learn from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 that there is a time for everything and each day is a gift from God.
Not everything we do is fun, or quick, or easy. Sometimes we want to run but need to rest. Other times we want to talk but must listen instead.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 teaches us that there's a time for everything. Even as grown-ups, that's a hard lesson to learn!
Through expressive animal friends, this picture book offers children ages 3 to 7 a playful way to see this lesson in practice. Each page includes silly and sometimes poignant scenes of Elephant, Panda, and Fox encountering fun and not-so-fun moments together--like splashing in mud puddles and then cleaning up the mess. Children and their adults will discover themes of kindness, generosity, and caring.
At the very end of the book, a checklist of questions guides children to take inventory of their day to consider healthy habits that create a well-balanced life.
Gretchen Huesmann is an educator, writer, and speaker, as well as a pastor's wife and Bible study leader. After raising four terrific children, she and her husband are enjoying their empty nest with Radar the cat.
Jonny Lambert was born in a Surrey barn and grew up knowing he wanted to be an artist of some sort. Encouraged by his grandfather and, later, his art tutor at The Reigate School of Art and Design, Jonny is now an artist of many sorts. He lives in Wisborough Green, West Sussex.
