Jon Obermeyer is a native of Santa Barbara, CA. He holds a degree in English from Westmont College, an MFA in Creative Writing from UNC Greensboro and the Basic Certificate in Economic Development from UNC Chapel Hill. Jon has advised over 1,500 start-ups in his career as a banker, economic developer, and seed fund CEO. A recent resident of San Francisco, Jon co-launched an internal creative agency at Hearst Digital Media's SFGate website and co-founded a technology marketing agency producing original content for SanDisk and Samsung. Jon was formerly Director of Marketing for Astadia, a global Cloud computing IT consulting firm that was backed by Kodiak Ventures. With Astadia Chief Technology Officer Mike Lingo, he co-authored the first business book on cloud computing Hey! You! Get Onto My Cloud (2010). He has worked in executive roles at venture-backed companies, ran national initiatives for the Wake Forest University Institute of Regenerative Medicine, and formerly owned a convention services/trade show business supporting 180 events annually. A professional writer since 2002, Jon has edited or co-authored seven business books on the topics of cloud computing, the human immune system, angel investing, customer service, project management, social media selling and artificial intelligence/machine learning. A lifelong creative, Jon is a published poet, short story writer and essayist, with six books of creative work available on Amazon. He lives in Durham, NC.
