A WAYWARD id: A Kidder & Mahan novel (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781484839690)

Sigmund Freud says..."This is the darkest part, the most impenetrable of our personality. The place of Chaos. It is filled with energy from the drives, but without showing any organization, no general will, he intended merely to satisfy instinctual needs, in accordance with the principle of pleasure. The id knows and does not tolerate contradiction. There is no evidence of flow of time." Jason Glover is back with a new installment in his id series. A WAYWARD id, is book three in this fast paced psychological thriller series. Get ready to travel inside the mind of his most disturbed killer to date... Ernest Paul Kidder had left St. Augustine, the St. Johns County Sheriff's department, and all his personal turmoil surrounding his family's political dysfunction behind when he got the call... Still haunted by the Fourth of July killings in St. Augustine, and the whereabouts of the notorious serial killer responsible, Abraham Kinsinger, Kidder feels a connection, a sense of purpose, when Detective Allen from Tallahassee, Florida enlists the help of the FBI, namely the DROP division of which Kidder was now an agent. He'd worked with Allen before, apprehending Early Mott, from which Kidder gained his ugly neck scar, and whom was connected to Kinsinger. His boss, and lover, Dr. Mahan Pierce was just as eager to return to the heated state of Florida in the middle of an angry August. The heat and humidity served as a reminder to their torrid affair. But she was good at something else too...getting inside the minds of notorious killers made her famous, and her expertise in forensics and biological sciences kept her in the headlines... There were three dead women in Tallahassee...all strangled and discarded like trash. There were no suspects, no clear motive, and the families had no answers...no closure. Kidder and Mahan were certain their had to be a connection, even more certain their team could find it, and were willing to forget everything to return to Florida, to the battleground of unforgiving heat and humidity, and try and apprehend another illusive killer. As they enter the seductive, dangerous world of sadomachochism, however, both Mahan and Kidder's passion towards the case, and each other are pushed to the brink. Their pasts, and their own ids once again stand in the way of truth, justice and the unspoken loyalty between them. But the truth was, they weren't in control of their own demons...never had been...perhaps never will be. Things aren't always what they seem in this thriller. and it becomes clear the need to catch the killer quickly is real...before their biggest fears come true...and they are met with the silver linings of their own minds. A new race begins to catch a killer...and to catch themselves from self destruction. When your mind starts playing tricks on you, everyone has a breaking point... Everyone has an id...
