Ad Reverendissimos Et Illustrissimos Dominos Dominos Canonicos Capitulares Cathedralis Ecclesiae Passaviensis Pro Electione Novi Principis Et Episcopi (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781275175006)

This is a historical oration, titled "Ad Reverendissimos Et Illustrissimos Dominos Dominos Canonicos Capitulares Cathedralis Ecclesiae Passaviensis Pro Electione Novi Principis Et Episcopi Congregatos Oratio," delivered by Georg Michael Stainer. The oration was presented in conclave on January 4, 1723, to the assembled canons of the Passau Cathedral during the election of a new Prince-Bishop. This text provides insight into the ecclesiastical and political processes of the period, offering a glimpse into the considerations and rhetoric surrounding the selection of a leader within the Catholic Church in Passau during the early 18th century. Its value lies in its historical documentation of religious practices and political dynamics within a significant European diocese.
