She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Medical School at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1995. She completed her Pediatric Residency at The Children's Hospital in Galveston, Texas, in 1998 and moved on to own and operate two Pediatric practices in Tennessee.
