A native of Montana Cal Richardson graduated from high school, joined the U. S. Navy and retired after 30 years of active duty. Upon retirement and entering college he earned a bachelor's degree with honors in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. A life of writing has resulted in an accumulation of stories, poems, and opinion pieces based on his personal experiences. A lover of history, travel, and a good story he has brought together a collection of articles that encompass philosophy, humor, and personal insight. Much of what he has written comes from advice and opinions shared with his children and grandchildren. Many of the short stories were written for family and friends. Repeatedly advised to write a book by his professors, friends, and family this is a product of that advice.

The first section is a collection of short, pithy, foundational concepts about making decisions regarding love, marriage, religion, and politics that come from the heart of a person who might be your neighbor, your barber, or your children's teacher.
