The word Africa was introduced by Europeans and came into Western use through the Romans after the three Punic battles (264 BC to 146 BC). The word Africa was initially used to refer only to the northern part of the continent. The Europeans influenced the change of identity from Alkebulan to its present name. For identity purposes, we recognize and utilize Africa. This is the land that was gifted to the House of Abram, Isaaka (Isaac), and Akobe (Jacob).
