This book involves an alien mission to earth to study the human male vs. female relationship, and whether earth should even be saved. It is full of humor and mishaps, but the main theme is the romance and male vs. female conflict between Joe & Tory (humans) and between Carmy & Celeste, members of the alien mission. Joe is a hunter, and in a sense, so is Tory who targets Joe for romance. The same can be said of Celeste, who targets Carmy. Interestingly, Celeste is actually an intelligent ship, as well as having an alternate humanoid form.
