Dr. Lydia A. Woods is a theologian and bible scholar, a minister, Christian educator, inspirational speaker, and retired college professor. She earned her Doctorate in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia, and has also earned a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education degrees from the Interdenominational Theological Center. Dr. Woods began writing Christian poetry in 1989 and published her first collection of poems, "Poems by Revelation" in 1995. She has since published 15 Christian poetry books and written over 400 poems. She is working on several Biblical themed poetry books, a book on Wellness and Biblical Principles and a novel. She recently retired from College teaching, and is currently the Founder & CEO of Family Community Outreach Services, Inc., a non-profit organization located in the Historic South Atlanta area. Her ministry includes, "The Women's Care and Support Center," which provides over 20 Support Groups for Women and Teen Girls. Other outreach services include feeding the hungry and providing personal necessities for Atlanta's homeless population.
