The next operation was to terminate the Muslim terror group trainer of the Turk who tried to assassinate Pope John Paul II. The mission was a success, but the two operators were surrounded by Syrian terrorists and were forced to seek refuge in a Syrian's home, where they were protected by Islamic hospitality law. A ransom for release was established with the terrorists for the two operators. The president wouldn't allow the money to be paid, setting up a confrontation at the Syrian/Jordanian border crossing.
