In the 1980s, Joseph Lavelle worked alongside Jimmy Somerville and Richard Coles on the award-winning TV documentary Framed Youth: Revolt of the Teenage Perverts. Following a decade in London, which entailed periods of homelessness and constant job-hopping, Joseph settled down in his native city of Liverpool in the north of England. In recent years, his short fiction has been published in the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany and the USA. He has won several awards and competitions - including the short story strand of the Mental Health and Me, which he won in 2014 and 2015. He has an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University.
