Dr. A (Amy Shimshon-Santo, Ph.D.) is a writer, performer, and educator who believes that creativity is pivotal to learning. She enjoyed a rewarding career performing and teaching throughout the United States and abroad at venues from school cafetoriums to the John F. Kennedy Center. She was an arts educator in K-12 classrooms for twenty years, and taught arts educators at the University of California for seven years. As a professor, she developed award winning courses in arts education. She is recipient of the Presidential Honor Roll for Service Learning, a commendation from the State of California, and fellowships from the CORO Foundation, the California Arts Council, the University of California, and the Dana Foundation.
