Isabel was born in Ethan, South Dakota in 1930, attended South Dakota State University, married and raised six children. Graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from U.South Carolina at Columbia in 1974, sold a novel LACE to Fawcett, earned an MA in Theatre in 1981 from the same university. Taught art in private schools, Aiken Day, Mead Hall, and St. Angela Academy. Now a full time writer and editor. Has Isabel's Art Studio and Art Studio Press as her buisness.
