Jeffrey Sean Lehman received an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Cornell and advanced degrees in law and in public policy from the University of Michigan. He was a law clerk, a lawyer, a professor of law and public policy, and for nine years the dean of the University of Michigan Law School, before he became Cornell's eleventh president.
