They follow Bryand and his friends into the dangerous uncharted lands beyond the United Kingdoms, where it is the Prince's hope they will find the fortune needed to raise an army and return to Bandidon in strength. Along the way they meet many strange individuals, including a tree-loving recluse named Lloyd; a wizard with delusions of grandeur named Lazem Behdar; a tribe of cowardly Grovelings, plus fearsome creatures like Rock Beasts (often referred to as Roasts); a flagon dragon with an incredible thirst; an ogre with a hat fetish, and some royal undead.
